Just a reminder that the Work Party is going ahead as planned this weekend. The weather forecast isn’t looking great, but we will hopefully be getting the barbeque alight as usual. The date was picked as it was after the governments planned date for lifting all restrictions. As that has unsurprisingly slipped we will have to be careful with social distancing. The current guidance in place allows for up to 30 people to meet up out doors. As all the jobs are spread around the site we should be ok. Hopefully it will be a good turn out, which could cause a few issues at lunch time. It may be necessary to split into smaller groups to ensure no rules are broken.
It has been suggested that members bring their own cups for drinks to prevent any chance of cross contamination.
Below is a list of jobs for the weekend. If you have any specific skills that match any of the jobs please let us know. It helps if members can bring tools, especially shovels and spades. Also if you have any specific skills and tools to make some of the jobs on the list easier, please bring them.
You will notice that we will be starting working on the new CCTV. This will require some trenching work on the grass between the club hut and the sea wall alongside the slip, a trench along the front of the dinghy racks that will need to cross the yard diagonally from the NW corner of the hut to the first dinghy rack. Any dinghies on the grass will need relocating off the grass and those left along the front of the racks will need to be moved. If possible we would like to clear as many as possible before that weekend. Please note we will be hiring in a digger and driver for the day, so will need to prioritise clearing any dinghies left in the area on Saturday morning.

I am sorry, but I am unable to attend for the working party. My daughter gets married tomorrow, on Saturday there are further family celebrations at her house and…. My sister and brother in law are here from Scotland . So ……… I shall have to buy my way out of this one. Please let me know cost, and to which account?

No problem Vernon. All being well there will be another work party weekend in the Autumn. I think the dates are in the Events list. We ask members to participate on 2 days in a year and sort it out with the membership renewal. Sometimes it’s possible to earn credits at other times when jobs need to be done at other times. Don’t worry about it now, enjoy your special weekend. Dave
