A couple of months ago members were invited to respond to ideas about how the club should improve the maintenance and hence durabilty of club moorings. There was a fairly limited response.
It is likely that at the next AGM the committee will put forward a proposal that gives the club the power to undertake inspections and repairs to a mooring when it is believed that the mooring has not been properly maintained by the member and make a charge. Where a mooring is occupied and considered unsafe the club will have the right to move the vessel to a safe mooring or ashore with the power to levy a charge.
For this season it is hoped to make good good as many moorings as possible particularly ones currently unoccupied so they are ready to use by new members and existing members wanting to refurbish their current mooring.
The following dates have been identified as the most suitable to carry out full refurbishments, for the next 3 months. Later dates to follow if required.
April 19-22.
May. 5-8 & 19-23
June 4-7 & 18-22.
These are generally late morning early afternoon HWs allowing enough time to get ready, attend the mooring, carry out the repair when dry and then return ashore.
This should be possible in 4 to 5 hours depending on the location of the mooring.
Please respond if you are able to get involved with your preferred date or dates, or indeed any other dates if you do not find these suitable. I would hope to try and put together teams of 2 or 3 and do a few days in a row with different personnel.
Graham.
Hi
I looked at my mooring last year and replaced a few links just above the bottom swivel.
I will be checking it again as soon as possible but I think it likely that area around the float will need replacing.
The dates in may are good for me if this is the case.
In the mean time if your short of helpers for any of the other dates let me know as I should be able to help out.

Hi Graham,
I am available for all these dates with the exception of April 19-22 but would prefer to get it sorted asap.
