Threatened closure of Weir Wood sailing club.

Hello,
Below is a sorry tale of corporation versus small grassroots sailing club that you may have read about in the sailing press. Tom Cunliffe present the case for the club; copy the link into your browser to view if you wish to know more

Dear Lower Halstow YC

We are extremely grateful for all the support given so far to our efforts to save our club, Weir Wood Sailing Club, from closure.

Having reached our minimum fundraising target, we are now looking to raise the significant amount of £100,000 to assist with legal fees, and we can’t do it this without the help of the sailing community. We have made several attempts to reach out to our landlord with the aim of reaching settlement. However, we have had no luck to date. As such, we are preparing ourselves to fight the court case at the end of this year.

We are very lucky to have featured on yachting journalist, Tom Cunliffe’s, YouTube channel. His call for support can be viewed here: Weir Wood Youtube

We appreciate that not everyone is able to contribute financially. However it would be amazing, if not already done so, if you would:-

· Share our CrowdJustice link on social media: https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/save-weir-wood-sailing-club/
· Share Tom Cunliffe’s video on social media
· Share our CrowdJustice link in newsletters/communications to your club members
· Send this email to anyone you think may support our case

Once again, we can not thank the sailing community enough for the pledges, advice and words of support that we have received to date.

Wishing you all the best,

Duncan Lawson
