The owner of the cat Tread Softly, currently on its trolley, on the grass next to the slip, has noticed today that the outboard from the boat has been stolen. The engine was a Mercury 15hp long shaft model. It is believed that it has gone missing in the last 3-4 weeks.
Who ever took it obviously came well prepared as they have cut through a heavy chain and control cables. The outboard was heavy, so there must have been a vehicle nearby. The Police have been informed.
If anyone has seen anything suspicious, please let a member of the committee know.
We are not aware of any other boats being interfered with, but worth checking if you have anything valuable and portable in the yard.
