Just a thought – I think it would be very useful for a ring to be installed at the top of the slipway, so members could attach lines/pullies/tackle to help pull boats up. I have seen some members struggling pulling heavier dinghies up the slipway – and a member could slip/ suffer injury – especially when the slipway is slippery with weed. Ralph Burkinshaw.
I wonder who that feeble creature you spied was Ralph???
Members won’t slip or injure themselves on the slippery way if they secure a block to the trolley or trailer, and take a line from a post through the block, and then support themself on a post as they pull, or pull when they are not on the slippery bit.
You can pull up diagonally, to one of the large posts on the left, (looking seaward), and then back to the top metal pole.
A ring would make it a lot easier, but I might still do it in two stages.
Oh,
And a block with at cam cleat makes it a lot safer too.
What about the mobility buggy which can be attached to the trolleys and pulls them up OK. The key is in the clubhouse somewhere. An old post should tell you where or others will know.
