Fastest over 25ft - Marie Louise |
After weeks of Covid-19 lockdown, a delayed lift in, and a fine day forecast, 10 boats assembled on the start line on Sunday morning. A light SE breeze carried us down the creek and out to the Montgomery before altering course for the Red Sands towers. 3 boats pulled away from the pack and were first round the towers. Next mark was the Middle Sands beacon which took a bit of tacking and positions changed again when Jeddo regained some of the lost ground due to leaving the cruising chute up too long. Marie Louise stayed out in front until Garison Point where Jeddo managed to creep inshore and make up quite a bit of ground. From then on there was a tacking match between the two Fulmars with the lead being taken and lost several times by both boats. Marie Louise ended up crossing the line first, but loosing out on handicap to The Pie that crossed the line just 40mins later.
