Day 8 Falmouth to Helford

Tuesday was a bit of a rest day. With Thunder Storms forecast we decided on an easier day. A couple of showers during the morning was all that arrived. It gave the opportunity to tidy the boat and do some laundry. Daydream needed some engine spares that were available in Mylor, so set off there to pick them up. I had a trip across to St Mawes where I purchased Jeddo, nearly 14 years ago. I dropped anchor for lunch outside the harbour and was joined by Daydream after his shopping trip. Foreness went ahead to the Helford River and anchored. When the other two of us arrived, with the gusty wind we decided to pick up nearby visitor buoys for a more comfortable night. We took the dinghies ashore to stretch our legs, oh, and a little refreshment at Treath. This morning we are currently heading for the most southerly tip of mainland Britain, the Lizard and then on to Newlyn.

Hi Perry, it’s all dependent on weather. So far we haven’t been held up by bad weather, although we are having a rest day on Friday after a long day Thursday, Newlyn to Padstow. One of the three of us was planning to be back in 6 weeks, another is thinking 3-4 months. I was thinking it was going to take 2-3 months. So at the moment we don’t really know.
