We departed Padstow Harbour at 05.40 once the gate was open. By 06.05 we were across the Doom Bar and out into a much calmer Atlantic Ocean than we arrived in. We got past the off lying rocks and set a course for just off due North for Milford Haven. There was a bit of breeze, but not enough to maintain an arrival time before the heavy rain arrived, so the engines remained on.
It wasn’t long before Nick in Daydream who had pulled ahead a bit was on the vhf telling us he had dolphins with him. Within a few minutes there was a splash as they arrived alongside Jeddo. This time I captured them on my phone. It was fantastic to watch them. The adults appeared to herd the smaller younger dolphins closer to the bow of the boat.
Al day we had visits from dolphins. Sometimes they would stay a few minutes, sometimes they would disappear after a few passes.
I have uploaded a video to Utube https://youtu.be/LPJqqAOxmT0
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful out of sight of land other than Lundy Island 17 nm off to the East. Daydream pushed on s he had. Passenger to pick up at Milford Haven marina.
Light rain did arrive s we reached Milford Haven but Foreness nd Jeddo moored up on vacant moorings at Dale before he heavy rain arrived. There was a fair amount of swell, so not the most comfortable night.
We are on our way no to Fishguard attmpting to get to Pwllheli before strong winds arrive.
