For some reason on a number of occasions recently whilst members have been working on their boats the electrics have tripped out. We are not sure if it is faulty appliances being used, too much load all at one time or an underlying fault on or electrics.
There has been a couple of instances where the power has remained off for some time until someone that knows where to reset it arrives on site.
If you arrive on site and the power is off, please make sure that it hasn’t been turned off intestinally and that it isn’t being worked on before any attempt to restore it.
The yard power goes through two breaker panels and a main isolator. The yard sockets pass through the box located near the shore end of the jetty and are fairly obvious if tripped.
The yard is fed through the main panel in the back corner of the hut. Again fairly obvious if anything is tripped.
If the whole site is off it is normally the trip located in the box on the pole on the seawall by the pedestrian gate towards the village. The box is padlocked with the standard club Papaize key that opens the oar store/ toilet. You may need to take something to stand on to reach the box. At the bottom of that box is a grey plastic box with an isolator trip switch. It can be a little confusing. When tripped it will show a green label, indicating it is safe. When on and live it will show a red, “danger” label.
If you are unable to restore the power please inform a committee member.
