Sorry for the break in posts for a few days again. It has been difficult to update at sea and always something going on when ashore.
Tuesday was a very damp day In Pwllheli marina. Having already walked into the town on Monday evening we were in no rush to do that again in a hurry. I spent most of the morning uploading the videos to Utube and writing the last posts.
The afternoon was spent tidying and cleaning the boat ready for the guest I had arriving later, then trip into Asda to restock.
I was joined by Mike a family friend of many years later in the evening.
Wednesday morning started early again at 05.30. The forecast wasn’t great, but we had decided to make for Caernarfon. As always the wind was on the nose so we motored towards Beardsley Sound at the end of the Lleyn Pininsular. This sound was calm compared to the previous two we had passed through. We turned the corner and the sails filled and we were able to sail for a while. With a bar to cross around the mouth of the Menai Straights to cross and 2hrs either side of HW to get into the marina it became necessary to start the engines again.
We reached the bar at our planned time to take the last of the flood tide over the bar. The Menai straights has some strange tides and was flowing against us before HW at Caernarfon when we arrived.
We moored up in a busy Victoria dock, and explored the City, find some refreshment and something to eat.
