Amble marina is behind a tidal cill, so we either had to leave very early or wait until about 3.30 in the afternoon. We took the later option which gave us the chance to catch up on some jobs, such as laundry, shopping and refuelling the boats. With the later start we were limited by our options and chose to visit the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club at Blyth.
We completed the 16.5Nm trip arriving at 17.00 and tying up on the visitors pontoon. I had been contacted by a member of the Westerly Owners Association who was a member ther and had recommended the Galley in their clubhouse the last serving wooden light ship.
We went in and settled our mooring fees and on the chalk board was the nights offerings. I opted for the Beef dinner and Michael went for the Pork dinner at £5 each. We couldnt believe the meal we got for £5, it was a full Sunday roast.
