NtM 0 22 – 2024
River Medway
A drift P ontoon – Kingsnorth Area
Mariners are advised of an adrift mooring pontoon within the River Medway following an
re ported sighting earlier today.
The pontoon, approximately 8 metres in length and 5m in width , is currently grounded on
the shore line to the west of Kingsnort h. It may re‑float at high water overnight and
therefore may have moved location by daylight tomorrow.
Vessels navigating the River Medway, particularly down str eam from Gillingham Reach ,
are advised to proceed with caution, maintain an enhanced lookout, and be aware that
the pontoon may re‑enter the navigable channel on the next tide.
Any sightings of the pontoon immediately to Medway VTS.

T he situation is being monitored , and further action will be taken as required over the
weekend .
