Site Security – Ladders

Many of you will have either seen or heard about Bill Robinson’s boat Magwitch that was burnt out on the land adjoining the club. There has been regular trespassing and vandalism by youngsters culminating with the boat being set alight and destroyed. We have captured the incidents on CCTV, but Kent Police have failed to follow up or resolve the issue.

With our boats starting to be lifted out for the winter we need to be especially vigilant. There’s only a low gate between the club and the land where the incidents have happened.

Walking around the club at the weekend there were numerous ladders laying around. Just one ladder is all that is needed for the local low life to start accessing our boats. Please ensure any ladder you leave at the club is securely locked when not in use.

Any unsecured ladders left around the yard will be removed by the committee and securely locked away and will need to be reclaimed.
