Tractor Fuel

It has recently come to light that contaminated fuel has been added to the tractor fuel tank. This has caused extremely uneven running and misfiring of the tractor, and has come close to breaking down whilst recovering boats. When this was first noticed the tractor was serviced and new filters fitted at a considerable cost to the club. Within no time the tractor was misfiring again. A committee member has spent a considerable time changing the filters again and cleaning the contaminated fuel from the tank.

It is thought that a member has at some time drained off the contaminated fuel from their boat and left it in a can in the tractor shed. This has later been added to the tractor fuel tank. Fuel that is not good enough to be used in a boat is not good enough to be used in the tractor.

Please note. That all members should be aware that it is a club rule that all waste should be removed from site by the member.

We believe we know which boat the fuel has come from, but not certain who has added it to the tractor. If this becomes known the individuals membership will be revoked.

If anyone has any information about this, please talk to a committee member.
