The black lever hoists have now been serviced and tested.
Could I ask members to make sure that when using , the chain between the body of the tackle and the hook is not twisted laterally.
It can become twisted if the hook section is turned “inside out” whilst being rigged or de-rigged, if you know what I mean !
If they are not twisted the chain links will run smoothly over the sprockets in the main body but if links enter the body twisted the hoist will be damaged. It is especially important if the hoist is raised to its highest position near the body under load.
Hopefully this all makes sense !
