Hi all, 9 boats participated in our annual Red Sands ‘race’ starting at 06.30 . It was a driftathon for the first couple of hours. Managed to pick up a breeze at Garrison point to get round the Medway buoy. Some going way across the Thames toward Southend t0 maximise tide assistance and others cutting in close to the Montgomery. The breeze held for the leaders to get round the towers and middle beacon. only to find the Spile buoy missing! There were rumours that the leader removed to confuse, but unlikely……….A lovely day and a good sail with many airing the spinnakers.
