Hi all, as part of yard control we periodically review members property stored on site.
The committee felt it time to ask for your help again to have your tenders, trailers and personal boat supports marked with your membership number. This appears to be the most effective method as property changes hands and original boat names/post codes etc. are left displayed. The membership number is unique for us to refer to for the owner, so it needs to be correct and visible.
During the work party Saturday 3rd July the racked tenders/dinghies were viewed for identification. Many boats have been marked with everything from 2” stick on numbers to 2ft high painted. Whatever ‘floats your boat’ as the saying goes. The layout below shows the racks numbered 1-7 from the hut. Any wording in bold ITALICS shows we cannot identify the owner and need the membership number clearly applied on the boat bottom.
Please review the layout and if you recognise your tender/dinghy in bold ITALICS get back to me john.knight550@btinternet.com with your number and name and which tender/dinghy so I can update the plan. The racks are full so it is in every ones interest to have the current position recorded.
As with previous years, tender/dinghies on the rack without clear identification will be removed at the next work party, moved from the racks for 2 weeks for claiming. Unclaimed dinghies/tenders will be sold for charity or destroyed.
In preparation for the next work party the committee would be grateful if ALL trailers, either under a boat now or to be used this winter at lift out need the owners membership number applied on the trailer visible near to the ball hitch end.
Trailers stored on site and not used last winter or plan to be used this winter to be removed from site please.
Some of these actions are as a result of the full membership, Covid restrictions, more boats stored ashore during the winter, more trailer boats and unfortunately the odd occasion of items being ‘stored’ without notice.
Any query please get back to me.
